Background
You will find a wealth of local knowledge within the walls of the house. Mincarlo is in its third generation of being run by the same Scillonian family; Harry and Olive Duncan established the guest house in the 1940's and Bryony returned in 2002 to take over from her uncle Colin. We can recommend and book restaurants on request and there are folders with local maps and information in each of the bedrooms.

During 2004 a new garden was made on the terrace in front of the house; the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine whilst watching the sun set over the harbour. There are steps down to the beach below if visitors care to swim in the beautiful clear water... it certainly is refreshing!

Location
Mincarlo really is superbly situated. Just ten minute's walk from the main quay, a local boatman (Bryony's dad Roy) calls in at breakfast to advise which trips are operating each day. Our location at the top of the Strand is convenient for Tourist Information, shops, pubs, restaurants, bicycle hire, windsurfing lessons and generally exploring the island.

Bedrooms
The house is an impressive building with large windows allowing plenty of light into the rooms. Eight of the eleven guest bedrooms have a view across the harbour and all of the rooms are quiet as the house is situated off the road in its own grounds.

We have two ground floor bedrooms, one double and one twin. On the first floor there are two double front bedrooms with bay windows (one of which can be let as a twin), two single rooms with sea view and a standard double room. On the second floor are a further two single rooms, one double and one twin all with sea views. All rooms have ensuite facilities.

All bedrooms have tea/coffee-making facilities, CD radio alarm clocks and hairdryers.

Wireless internet access is available to guests free of charge.

Breakfast
Breakfast is served from 8.30 to 10 am. If you are checking out before breakfast, a tray of fresh tea or coffee, toast, orange juice and cereal or fruit can be provided.
